ANNOUNCEMENT BY BRIAN BRUCE, GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE
With effect from 1 July 2005 we have made two important changes to the organisation under the leadership of executive director Edwin Hewitt. These changes are designed to enhance our engineering & contracting capability in key domestic and international markets and to build capacity as an effective partner to Clough in the offshore oil & gas market.

Murray & Roberts MEI has been established as an independent operating business and I am pleased to announce that Simon Mordecai-Jones has been confirmed managing director. Simon has led the business for a number of years, initially as a subsidiary of Genrec, then as an associate of Murray & Roberts Engineering Solutions (MRES) and more recently as a division of Murray & Roberts Construction.

A number of new appointments have been made into the executive leadership team. These are Charl Drury (finance), Stephen du Plessis (commercial) and Rajen Govender (human resources).

Our Marine business unit (formerly Lama International Contractors) is set to become independent of MRES with whom it has been linked for the past five years. I am pleased to announce that Ian Dryden will be appointed managing director, transferring from MRES where he is engineering director and has held executive responsibility for this business unit over the past two years.

In addition, Jason Coleman (finance) transfers with Ian into the executive leadership team.

I am also pleased to announce that Martin Lindsay-Scott will be appointed a director of both companies with responsibility for local and international business development.

I am confident this new operating arrangement will unlock significant potential for the Group under the direction of these executives and their colleagues in the businesses.
