In line with its strategy to dispose of non-core businesses, Murray & Roberts has concluded the sale of Harvey Fielders, a division of Harvey Roofing Products, and reached agreement on the sale of Woodline Timber Industries.

The sale of the business of Woodline Timber Industries to Steinhoff Southern Cape, a subsidiary of Steinhoff Africa Holdings, has been concluded with effect from 1 July 2001, at approximate net asset value, and subject to Competition Commission approval.

Harvey Fielders has been sold to the MacSteel Group at approximate net asset value, with effect from 1 August 2001.

The total proceeds from both of these disposals amount to R30,7 million.
