The companies of Engineering Management Services (EMS), JCI Projects and Lama have merged to form a single powerful entity providing engineering solutions for emerging economies.

The new company, Murray & Roberts Engineering Solutions, is now strongly positioned to provide multidisciplinary services in five sectors, namely Mining and Minerals; Refineries, petrochemicals and chemicals; Agribusiness; Offshore Oil and Gas; and Marine Engineering.

Sean Flanagan, MD of Murray & Roberts Engineering Solutions says: "The merger was precipitated by the need to address the new style engineering contracting challenge. Contracting arrangements have largely moved away from the sale of manhours to more comprehensive delivery of the final solution. In essence, we will now deliver a holistic approach in our engineering solutions, project development and implementation activities."

This new development will lend impetus to the strategic intent of creating a unitary Murray & Roberts.
