ended 30 June 2001 was R571 million an average of R47,6 million per
month. The total number of shares traded was 150 million an increase of 8% on last year. The volume of shares traded during the year expressed as a percentage of the average number of shares in issue was 44%, which compares with 40% last year. The total number of transactions recorded on the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa during the year was 6 622 (2000: 10 761). |
