FATAL ACCIDENT AT GOLD FIELDS SOUTH DEEP MINE
Murray & Roberts Holdings Limited regrets to
confirm that eight of its employees died tragically in a shaft accident on 1 May
2008 when a personnel cage in which they were being transported at about 2880
metres underground at South Deep Gold Mine west of Johannesburg, fell almost 60
metres. All nine occupants of the cage, including an employee of the mine
itself, died instantly in the accident.

Murray & Roberts secures strong future in power
Murray & Roberts saw its forward order book grow by 70% over the
past six months to a record R38 billion, of which R25 billion will
be utilised in the period to June 2010. The primary area of
opportunity for the company is the Southern Africa power sector,
where it is a contender for the award of further long-term
contracts.
