Our diversity of activity and globalisation strategy enables Murray & Roberts to
offer a unique employment proposition. Our graduates undergo a well structured
and professional development programme in the field relevant to their discipline
of study whilst at the same time being exposed to world-class opportunities and
challenges.
The programme lasts for 12 months and alternates between business exposure
opportunities within diverse business entities and intense development modules
designed to fast track young graduates along their career path.
The modules made available to our graduates provide vital information
relevant to their specific disciplines and personal development. The modules
offered include:
• Induction
• Value engineering
• Project management
• Finance
• Legal issues for engineers
• Self management
During the year, the graduate will be assigned to an appropriate host company
and also, where appropriate, rotate to a number of other relevant companies
within Murray & Roberts in order to gain holistic insight into both the host
company and the Group as a whole. The graduates are assigned appropriate
projects and responsibilities and are accordingly measured against them, making
graduates accountable for their work which inevitably enables real growth and
development during the 12 month period.
In essence participation on the Murray & Roberts Graduate Development
Programme offers a young graduate the opportunity to develop essential soft and
hard skills for a successful career at Murray and Roberts as well as an overall
understanding of all areas of our operating entities.
