RISK LEADERS TERRY RENSEN has been appointed a director of Murray & Roberts Limited and will take responsibility for various corporate functions, supporting group FD Roger Rees. Terry’s primary role will be leadership of risk management, which includes oversight of group insurance and internal audit and the management of performance bonds and various forms of guarantees. He will also assume corporate responsibility for Group Benefits. Terry has provided corporate executive leadership to Consani and UCW in recent years and will continue in a corporate role with these operations. GREG KER-FOX has been appointed group risk manager, reporting to Terry Rensen. Before joining the group, Greg qualified as a civil engineer and completed a PhD in risk management. He has been involved in a number of risk initiatives with Murray & Roberts Engineering Solutions and PBMR. In his new position, he will focus on the implementation of the Risk Management Framework recently adopted by the Murray & Roberts Holdings Board. MORE APPOINTMENTS JEROME GOVENDER has been appointed general manager of Murray & Roberts Concessions. Jerome has been marketing and commercial director of Murray & Roberts Construction for the past two years. Before joining Murray & Roberts, he spent two years in the Department of Public Works, focusing principally on construction industry development and procurement reform. CRAIG LAWRENCE has been appointed group human capital executive. He was previously employed at Liberty Group where he worked with Roy Andersen. VANIDA LENNON joins the group as HSEC executive. She was previously employed at Eskom in a similar role and in the chairman’s office at Transnet. ANDREW SKUDDER has joined Murray & Roberts as an executive in Construction Materials, and understudy to Jim Wood. Andrew previously worked at AT Kearney. DAVID VAN DER MERWE has returned to Murray & Roberts as financial director of the new business following the acquisition of Cementation. David was previously employed by RSH, Deloitte Consulting and Absa. RESIGNATIONS ELSABE MARX has resigned as company secretary. Elsabe joined Murray & Roberts in August 2003 and engaged the process of bringing new dimensions of governance and regulatory compliance into the group’s board and leadership activities. |
