Adams, who will be based in the United Kingdom, joins Murray & Roberts from Costain plc, one of UK’s major listed construction and engineering groups. Adams has been an executive director of the company for a number of years and in his 32 years with the company was involved in and responsible for its activities in the Middle East and throughout Africa. He has also held executive responsibility for the company's materials and services businesses.

Adams will be working from the UK in close association with Brian Bruce and the corporate leadership team.

“His appointment is the first step in reshaping the way in which we are established and manage our international activities and their associated risks. In the first instance he will work with me in pursuing our potential partnership in Saudi Arabia, looking to a broader role in the Middle East, and he will play a key role in the integration management of Cementation Canada. He is playing a coordination role with Booker Tate and will be available to Group executives when we have negotiations in Europe, particularly for developing world projects,” said Murray & Roberts CEO Brian Bruce
