| I am pleased to advise that Roy Andersen took office as Chairman of the
Board of Murray & Roberts Holdings Limited with effect from 1 January 2004. This
follows the retirement of David Brink on 31 December 2003, who had served on the
Board since 1984, the last 9 years as chairman.
The appointment of Roy as Chairman signals another important milestone in our journey Rebuilding Murray & Roberts. Our objective is to have achieved fundamental transformation in every element of the Group by 30 June 2005, establishing the framework for sustainable earnings growth and value creation into the future. Roy is only the second independent chairman in the history of Murray & Roberts, the other being Mr Bill de la Harpe Beck (1982 to 1989). He takes leadership of the board as the Group engages the many challenges for its journey Beyond Rebuilding Murray & Roberts. |
