This follows the recent appointment of Sean Flanagan as executive director of Murray & Roberts Holdings Limited, where he now holds specific responsibility for the Group’s development, construction and mining contracting operations in South Africa, the rest of SADC and into Africa.

Laas has been managing director of Murray & Roberts RUC for the past four years. During this period he has significantly changed the overall performance profile of the company, strengthening its position in South Africa and turning it into a major force in the domestic and global mining sector.

The board of directors of the company has been restructured and now comprises Tim Wakefield (Technical), David van der Merwe (Financial), George Parker (Commercial), Alistair Douglas and Sean Flanagan.
